Facial Routine: The correct sequence

The world of skincare can seem overwhelming at first glance, but it doesn’t have to be. The underlying question, however, is this: What are the essential steps to make a skincare routine that works?

That’s why we’ve made this guide to create your daily skincare routine. Spending just a few minutes a day can achieve impressive long-term changes, and your skin will thank you.

But beware! The order in which you apply the products defines how your skin will absorb them… and what effect they will have (or not). The rule of thumb to keep in mind is: to apply products in order from lightest to densest texture.

Some Vital Steps To More Radiant Skin

Step 1: Clean your face

Your face must be completely clean before continuing with the rest of the treatment. The ideal is to cleanse the skin twice a day: in the morning (to remove excess sebum that is produced when sleeping) and at night (to remove impurities and traces of makeup).

If you wear makeup, remove your makeup with a sulfate-free, detergent-free cleanser to prevent it from drying out your skin. If you don’t wear makeup, don’t forget to clean your face anyway. Daily pollution leaves impurities on your skin that you can remove with micellar water.

Step 2: Tone your skin

When you tone your skin, you prepare it to absorb the rest of the treatment products more effectively. A good toner hydrates and rebalances the PH of your skin stimulates its defence mechanisms and reduces the size of the pores. Its liquid consistency also helps it penetrate quickly.

Apply the toner with the help of a cotton pad and let it absorb.

Step 3: Apply Your Serum

The facial serum is a formula of active ingredients in a very high concentration and penetrates the deepest layers of the skin. There are serums for different actions: repair, illuminate, hydrate, and treat wrinkles.

This step is not essential for younger skin (although we do recommend it for all ages) but it is very powerful for mature skin. Massage 2-3 drops of the serum into your hands and pat all over your face.

Step 4: Hydrate Your Skin

Do you remember the golden rule? Moisturizers are usually products with a slightly thicker texture than serums because they are designed to be absorbed more slowly. This helps seal in moisture and protect your skin.

Moisturizing the face is the essential step in any skincare routine. We need moisture to maintain elasticity and the barrier effect (prevent the skin from losing water and becoming dehydrated). It is best to choose moisturizers with vegetable oils, rich in Vitamin E and fatty acids, such as wheat germ oil or rosehip oil.

Step 5: Use a Facial Mask Once A Week

Between 1-3 times a week, depending on when you feel your skin needs it, touch on a mask. When to apply the facial mask within the daily routine? It depends on the type of mask. If it’s moisturizing, apply it after the toner (like everything that is moisturizing). If cleansing, apply before toner (but after cleansing).
